Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was spent with the Smith family. We went for a walk along the Lake Bonneville shoreline trail. One of the trail heads is located in the Fernwood Park area in Layton. It's a pretty cool train, and fairly easy for those in decent condition. Apperently I am far from decent condition... but it was still a nice hike. When we got home we had a lovely Easter dinner with a ham, mashed potatoes and veggies. Jared even made a rabbit cake. Yukon enjoyed playing chase and keep away and was thuroughly warn out. So much so that he decided not to tell anyone he had to go out and uninated all over the tile at the front door :(

Cathy and Kids Spring Break

This past week Cathy and the kids visited Barbara and Grandma Helen for the week... they were on spring break. We hung out with them as much as we could during the week. Christians highlights were coming over and playing Halo 3 in the evenings and reapeatedly killing Abby and sticking us all with grenades. Then as a wonderfull spurprize David visited on Wednesday and stayed until Easter, he had just finished a deployment to the Philipines for the Air Force. One of the fun activities that we did was go to Classic Skatting. Now I didn't do much skating, I nominated myself as the photographer, besides it's not like they had skates my size anyway. The kids really seemed to enjoy themseves as well as some of the adults. My personal highlight of the night was winning a jackpot of 250 tickets... we let the girls pick out prizes... Christian was no where to be found.

One other interesting note... Yukon really enjoyed having the kids over every evening to play... On one of those occasions Abby and Christian stayed the night. The next morning while I took my shower, the dog and the kids started to play and get progressively more and more rowdy. When I finished and came downstairs Abby and Christin were wrestling and Yukon was just standing there panting and staring. Kristin explained that at first she had to protect the kids from the dog but that changed to her having to protect the dog from the kids. They had worn Yukon out so much that all he could do was stare and pant at at the continued mayhem that was Christian and Abby.

The Goings On At The End Of 2008

Okay so what is this blog all about? Well for my birthday we went up to our time share resort at bear lake. I was all excited to hang out with Steve Voda and his family. I was also ready to bring my clubs and hit some balls. Kristin and I had just bought some new ones so we could spend more time out doors... well then the snow came and that was pretty early... Oct. 11th?? what's up with that. The other pictures are of christmas and Yukon and Anna and Caleb.

We spent Christmas with my parents this past year. Yukon and Amanda's kids seemed to have had a good time

Oh how we love our dog... EXCEPT WHEN HE IS IN A SHEDDING PHASE!!!!

I knew that family would be coming this past weekend. So with the help of Kristin we made sure that the house was presentable and relatively hair free. Well after just two days of Christian and Abby wrestling with the dog there was layers of hair everywhere!!!

Thank the powers that be for vacuums.

An Ode to Yukon

Today I decided to review the many pictures we have of our little boy, Yukon. The way i figure, until we get kids we will just have to post pictures of Yukon and all his personality. As you look through them, be grateful we didn't post the aftermath of the hair net incident. He swallowed some of it and it didn't come out so easily.

Also this next set of pictures will hopefully dispel the idea of Yukon being a hyper active dog. Contrary to popular belief he mostly lays around all day.

So I hope you enjoy our little boy because we sure do!!!

More Summer Fun

This summer brought the Whelan family together for Abby's baptism. We then visited the park next to Grandma Barbara's house and later to Hogle Zoo where Sean's true colors showed. At the park Emily and Lindsey repeatedly called out to "Aunt Kristin" and "Uncle David" to watch them do various silly things. I then asked Lindsey who I was, she said I was the "Oneiest" I don't understand what that means.
